At Oldbury Park we have a team of dedicated, hard-working staff to support your child on the start of their school journey.

At Oldbury Park we embrace a purposeful play-based approach where the interests of the children are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to give each child a happy and positive start to their school life in which they can establish a solid foundation for a love of learning.  

The learning environment is organised so that children can explore and learn independently. We recognise that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development. We also understand the important impact outdoor play has on both the physical and mental well-being of children. Therefore, children have access to the outdoor area daily. The environment is changed regularly in order to support children’s interests.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Transition 

Ensuring a smooth transition is vital for every child’s well-being. Prior to children starting at Oldbury Park, we run a series of transition opportunities. We hold stay and play sessions in the summer term before starting school, to help your child become more familiar with both the staff and the setting. School staff also visit each child at their Nursery/Pre-School to get to know them in a place where they feel comfortable. 

Before starting in September, we also hold a parent meeting, in school, or at home, where we can meet your child and discuss them more personally.

Teaching and Learning

Our long-term plan sets out the themes we intend to teach each year. However, we are led by the children’s interests, giving them an opportunity to ensure their voice is heard. Therefore, plans are subject to change throughout the year.

Oldbury Park uniform without the logo is also easily available from local supermarkets and online from Amazon etc. 

In addition, a selection of good quality second hand uniform is available for everyone, free of charge. Please ask the office for more information.
